0900 – Briefing on HIV/AIDS unit by PPKP Hasani.
· Communicable disease control unit (Unit Kawalan Penyakit Berjangkit) is leaded by Encik David and consists of:
- Vector unit
- Tuberculosis (Tibi) unit
- HIV/AIDS unit
- Communicable disease unit
· The objective of the unit is to:
o Decrease the number of HIV infected patients by:
§ Changing the attitude of teenagers
§ Breaking the infection chain
§ Educating them through Prostar, seminars, pamphlets
§ Contact tracing
§ Premarital HIV testing
· Activities carried out by the unit are:
o Register notified cases and perform contact tracing
o Arrange collected data
o Brief the society about the ways to manage the dead body of a HIV infected patient in order to prevent transmission
o Organizing seminars to educate the society
o Help and plan Prostar activities
1430 – Briefing on Tibi unit by PPKP Rosli
· There are 3 Pusat Rawatan -1 (PR – 1) in Kuala Muda district:
1. Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim
2. Klinik Kesihatan Bandar Sungai Petani
3. Klinik Kesihatan Merbok
· There are 5 Pusat Rawatan – 2 (PR – 2) in Kuala Muda district:
1. Klinik Kesihatan Bakar Arang
2. Klinik Kesihatan Bukit Selambau
3. Klinik Kesihatan Bedong
4. Klinik Kesihatan Bandar Baru Sungai Lalang
5. Klinik Kesihatan Kota Kuala Muda
· There are few forms to be filled up by the health officers during the Tibi contact investigation:
o 10 C – 2: SENARAI KONTAK UNTUK PEMERIKSAAN SARINGAN TIBI
o 10 C – 1: NOTIS MENJALANI PEMERIKSAAN PENGESAHAN PENYAKIT TIBI
o 10 A – 3: MAKLUMAT PENYIASATAN KES TIBI
o 10 A – 4: SLIP NOMBOR DAFTAR TIBI
· According to the district record, there are 169 Tibi cases in year 2007 and 179 Tibi cases in year 2008 in Kuala Muda district.
