Vitamin B17 or Amygdalin was invented to give credibility and respectability to Laetrile, a commercial name for apricot kernels, which has been peddled as a cancer cure.Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.comBlogger25125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-78415887366086515482010-11-03T19:28:00.000-07:002010-11-03T19:37:40.573-07:00Amygdalin / Vitamin B17 For Canine Cancer Treatment
Vitamin B17

A Story about Amygdalin / Vitamin B17 For Canine Cancer Treatment.

For some time now I have been researching into alternative cancer treatments. It is an sad and ironic coincidence that some time after I began my research my sister, aged 49, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She has been in hospital since the end of September 2008 and is still there now. In addition, One of my dogs, Rocky, became ill at the beginning of December.

Rocky lost his appetite, lost weight became lethargic and had awful diarrhoea. We took him to our vetinary surgery. They did many tests on Rocky and he was found to have the campylobacter infection. He was treated for this but his diarrhoea persisted.

Visit Canine Lymphoma

After more tests and an x-ray (which didn’t really show anything untoward) the vets concurred that there must be a foreign object embedded in his stomach and, it was probably a tumour/s. The diarrhoea is a result of Rocky’s immune system trying to expel the object. As Rocky is fourteen years old the vets thought it unwise to operate on him to investigate further and said as long as his quality of life is ok then let nature takes its course and when the time comes and Rocky is suffering, well, we all know what follows.

Back to my research. One of the substances that I am particularly interested in is Vitamin B17 or Amygdalin. The synthesised form is called laertrile. For my purposes I will use the name amygdalin.

Amygdalin is a naturally occurring substance in over 2000 species of plants. The highest concentration being in apricot seeds. There has been much controversy about the use of amygdalin in the treatment of cancer. Amygdalin and laertrile are banned in the USA and the UK. However, in the UK apricot seeds are not banned and are considered a food supplement. Since I began my research I am now totally convinced that amygdalin, while not a cure for advanced cancers, is certainly a preventative and a controlling treatment of cancer, and I have, for the past six months or so, been eating about ten apricot seeds a day. They do taste a little bitter (bitter almonds).

Back to Rocky. Since the conventional treatments for Rocky (because of his age) were out of the question I started to give him about eight apricot capsules (you can buy the apricot seeds ready powdered in capsule form for people who don’t like eating the raw seeds. One capsule is roughly the equivalent to one and a half raw seeds. I wrapped the capsules in meat paste. After a few days, Rocky began to get his appetite back. He also became more active and started to ‘scrounge’ when we were eating our meals. Rocky always did this before he became ill. That’s how we knew he was really ill when he stopped scrounging.

After five weeks of amygdalin supplements Rocky is now back to his old self. However, he still does have diarrhoea. Sometimes though his stools do ‘thicken’ up. While the amygdalin will have killed of the cancer cells in the tumour/s it does not dissolve the tumour. That will either happen naturally or is removed by surgery. Rocky will have to continue having the capsules (now reduced to four a day) for the rest of his life. I also give three capsules a day to my other dog. Tammy (11 Years old) as a preventative.

Now, my dog loving friends, you may make what you will of this story. However, I would suggest you further enlighten yourselves before coming to a decision about amygdalin. Maybe you have heard of its other name - Laetrile. Vitamin B17 is found naturally in many foods. If you eat foods containing vitamin B17, your body will know what to do next. All other animals in nature instinctively do this. Consider it nature's cancer prevention. If only modern medicine would allow it.

Vitamin B17 is also referred to as a nitriloside, which is the foundation for Laetrile, amygdalin, and prunasin. Together with the pancreatic enzyme trypsin, these can form a natural barrier against cancer growth. If foods containing any of the nitrilosides are eaten regularly, the body's own immune mechanisms can naturally battle cancer-forming cells. But if foods containing these critical vitamins are not regularly consumed (or manufactured), nature's mechanisms can't work as effectively against the buildup of factors at the root of cancer and the countless number of degenerative diseases.

The following is a list of foods rich in vitamin B17:
- Watercress
- Spinach
- Bamboo sprouts
- Alfalfa sprouts
- Lentil sprouts
- Whole nuts
- Mung bean sprouts
- Ground nuts
- Garbanzo sprouts
- Apple seeds
- Apricot seeds

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-30169084486392555852009-07-20T05:15:00.000-07:002009-07-20T05:17:45.748-07:00Possible Cancer Cure Present In Apricot Seeds (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

Each year, thousands of Americans travel to Mexico to receive vitamin B-17 (Laetrile) therapy. They do this because it has been suppressed in the United States. Most of these patients have been told that their cancer is terminal and that they have but a few months to live. Yet,an incredible percentage of them have recovered and they are living normal lives .However, the FDA,the AMA,the American Cancer Society, and the cancer research centres continue to pronounce that Laetrile is fraud and quackery.

In the U.S. the FDA has tried to use strict regulations, not law, to ban vitamin B-17 for over 18 years. Vitamin B-17, or Laetrile Therapy is only used by some hospitals in Mexico, which treat cancer with nutrition. These hospitals achieve nearly a 100% recovery rate with "untouched" cases (localised tumours/cancers that have not yet been burned up with radiation, poisoned with chemotherapy, or cut into with surgery). A majority of Laetrile-treated patients report positive responses, ranging from increase in the feeling of well-being and even brighter outlook of life, to such noticeable reactions as an increase in appetite, weight gain and, frequently, restoration of natural colour, reduction or elimination of cancer-connected pain and cancer-caused fetor. In thousands of cases, total regression of all cancer symptoms have been confirmed.

Vitamin B-17, commonly known as "Amygdalin", or "Laetrile", is a natural substance that can be found in a variety of species in the Vegetable kingdom. The greatest concentration is found in the seeds of the rosaceous fruits, such as apricot kernels and other bitter nuts. There are many seeds, cereals and vegetables that contain minimal quantities of vitamin B-17 and form part of our daily diet.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-64617444703945399612009-07-05T21:11:00.000-07:002009-07-05T21:12:15.522-07:00Adequate Amounts of Vitamin B17 For Our Body
Maximum benefits for a person would have at least a minimum of 100 mg of vitamin B17 (which is the equivalent of about seven apricot seed) also help to a life free of cancer. Other common foods that contain vitamin B17 are:
Most of the seed kernels and fruits, with examples like bitter almonds, Apple, apricot, cherry, nectarine, peach, pear, plum and prune to have higher concentrations.

Other sources are as cashew nuts, bitter almonds and macadamia nuts, berries such as blackberry, cranberry, elderberry, raspberry, strawberry with less oats, barley, and rice, rye and wheat grass.

1. Eat Vitamin B17 whole fruit whole (including seeds), but not eat the seeds by themselves than you would eat if you ate the whole fruit is a way for vitamin B17.

2. Eat apricot stones. A peach or apricot kernel per 4.5 kg body weight is cree is more than enough normal safeguard against cancer, although the exact number may vary from person to person according to individual Dietary habits and metabolism. Note however, that many grains or seeds, for example, can be expected to produce unpleasant side effects.

The High concentrations of B17 are obtained by eating natural foods in their raw or sprouting stage. It is also reassuring to know that this does not mean that moderate cooking and other manipulations destroyed the contents of B17. Your local health store may also stock apricot kernels or supplemental vitamin B17, which means that cancer of the protection of all life, is as easy as making a trip to your local mall!
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-38679456840719496882009-06-11T08:57:00.000-07:002009-06-11T08:59:00.019-07:00Apricot Seeds - Keep Cancer Away (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

Diseases and illnesses especially cancer have an acidic nature. Apricot kernels help lower blood acidity. Malignant tumors have a low pH and are acidic, so eating apricot kernels which work to raise the pH of the body will help to slow down the spread of the cancer.

Apricot seeds destroy cancerous cells. They contain cyanide, which is locked away until it encounters a cancer cell. When people with cancer eat apricot seeds, the cyanide works to destroy some of the cancerous cells in their bodies. It is typically suggested that cancer patients ingest much larger doses of apricot seeds than people who are using apricot seeds as a form of natural cancer prevention.

Apricot kernels have long been used as natural cancer prevention. Many tribes of people around the world who routinely eat apricot seeds have never had instances of cancer.

So, why not have a cancer patient here in America try apricot seeds as a cure? It has a great chance of helping, so doctors should be willing to allow patients to try it.

If you expect to get the results you want from anything, you have to follow directions. This is true for if you are baking a batch of brownies, if you are putting together a tricycle, or traveling to a new destination for vacation. If you don't follow the directions correctly and accurately, your brownies will taste strange, the tricycle will be faulty, or you will end up in the wrong location. The same holds true for taking any type of medicine or herbal supplements and, the same holds true for taking apricot seeds for cancer prevention.

Taking apricot seeds also called apricot kernels for cancer prevention isn't rocket science; however, there are a few measures you need to follow in order to take them correctly. If you don't follow these, the apricot kernels may not work to their fullest effect in preventing cancer from forming.

These are the things you need to keep in mind when you first decide to start taking apricot seeds for cancer prevention. Remember these secrets, and you will have no problems with your cancer prevention.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-89642518462506141502009-05-31T08:13:00.000-07:002009-05-31T08:19:49.712-07:00Vitamin B17 In Apricot Pits (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

One popular alternative cancer cure is Vitamin B17, also called amygdalin or laetrile. Derived from apricot pits, laetrile is not a vitamin. It is the cyanide component of laetrile Vitamin B17 that kills cancer cells. Laetrile was used as a cancer treatment long before the modern controversy erupted over its use.

The Hunza Valley in remote Pakistan, where residents are reported to be immune from cancer due to their consumption of laetrile (amygdalin) Vitamin B17 in apricot pits.

It is the cyanide component of laetrile B17 that kills cancer cells. Laetrile was used as a cancer treatment long before the modern controversy erupted over its use.

As early as 1845, doctors were using purified amygdalin (laetrile) Vitamin B17to treat cancer patients. In the 1920s and 30s travelers to the Hunza Valley in Pakistan claimed they couldn't find a single case of cancer among the people who lived there and attributed it to the apricot kernals that contained laetrile B17 in the Hunza diet.

In controlled studies, rats with cancer appear to live longer when given leatrile Vitamin B17. Most of the human studies have employed purified oral or intravenous laetrile Vitamin B17, not apricot pits which are widely sold as a cancer remedy. The renowned Dr. Hans Nieper of Germany later endorsed laetrile B17 for prevention of cancer, but not as therapy for existing tumors.

One secret of the laetrile Vitamin B17 cancer therapy is the described ability of an enzyme called glucuronidase to liberate cyanide from its carrier molecules and deliver it to tumor sites. Glucuronidase is more abundant where inflammation, infection and tumors occur.

Therefore, the carrier molecules (nitrilosides) render laetrile Vitamin B17 relatively harmless until it is unzipped by glucuronidase. When removed from its carrier, cyanide is delivered at the right place, at the right time.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-4760856926010930452009-05-21T19:18:00.000-07:002009-05-21T19:22:09.238-07:00Apricot Seeds and Vitamin B17 Optimize Cancer Prevention (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

The apricot seeds are, indeed, the most of all cut of cancer stoppage. Experts say that it is always better to get nutrients from the raw source whenever possible-this is true during the term of wholly vitamins, not just for vitamin B17. For example, eating a serving of grapefruit is a a great deal of better way to procure to be some vitamin C than taking a vitamin C tablet weakly because the human body is more appropriate capable of metabolizing the vitamin from the fodder.

Vitamin B17 tablets should exist looked at as a supplement. Since you can none be certain that you are getting enough amygdalin from the apricot seeds (because they succeed in size, weight, and composition), you should ingest some amygdaline in a supplement form as for single in kind’s advantage so that you always get enough of the substance in your body. (Vitamin B17)Vitamin B17

Metabolism is the total function of our body. In order for our body to function properly, all of its attributes (physical, mental, and spiritual) must work in harmony.

Total care is the goal of the Metabolic Therapy. There are several elements that are utilized in order to provide our human organism the best environment to combat the disease and regain health. The Metabolic Therapy, our primary nontoxic cancer treatment, is based on the use of Laetrile, digestive enzymes, immunostimulants, mega-doses of vitamins and minerals, spiritual, nutritional, and psychological support. The Metabolic Therapy is not complete without its chief anti-tumor agent.

Laetrile (Vitamin B17) is a natural chemotherapeutic agent found in over 1,200 plants, particularly in the seeds of common fruits such as apricots, peaches, plums, and apples.

It is a diglucocide with a cyanide radical that is highly"bio-accessible." This means that it penetrates through the cellular membrane reaching high intracellular concentrations easily. The cyanide radical is what preoccupies most scientists, but it has been proved that Laetrile (Vitamin B17) is completely nontoxic. Our own experience with hundreds of patients gives us complete confidence that there is no danger. The normal cells in our organism contain an enzyme called rhodenase which "neutralizes" the Laetrile.

This enzyme does not allow the Laetrile to release the cyanide. In this way, Laetrile only serves as a glucose providing energy to healthy cells. Malignant cells do not contain this enzyme. In the absence of rhodhenase, the Laetrile is activated liberating the cyanide radical inside the malignant cell causing its destruction.

Vitamin B17Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-49487175951724778202009-05-09T06:36:00.000-07:002009-05-09T06:37:50.417-07:00Ways of Ingesting Vitamin B17
Vitamin B17

You can take vitamin B17 in tablet form-or, you can eat apricot seeds. Both of these methods will work to provide you with the necessary amygdalin to keep the cancer cells from invading your body. Additionally, in stronger doses, both can work (in some cases) to help fight cancer or to keep it in remission.

Many people wonder if it will boost their body's immune system if they eat apricot seeds and take vitamin B17 tablets at the same time. This is certainly possible-and, in fact, many of the highly noted amygdalin researchers do, indeed, take both vitamin B17 tablets and eat apricot seeds.

There are some detailed cancer preventative protocols and metabolic therapies outlined on the internet that specifically suggest eating a certain number of apricot seeds per day and taking vitamin B17 tablets those same days. Whether you take supplements or not, the Vitamin B17 you consume in the foods you eat will continue to get rid of the cancerous cells in your body. The Chinese have long believed in the powers of Vitamin B17 and use these Vitamin B17 rich foods for the treatment of tumors. They have been doing this for years.

Many would like you to believe that if you started consuming high dosages of Vitamin B17 foods or supplements, you will suddenly be cured of any cancer you may have. This is not the case. As of yet, there still, unfortunately, is not a cure for cancer. However, if you eat a diet that is rich in Vitamin B17, you’re taking a giant step towards helping your body to prevent cancerous cells from invading your system.

Vitamin B17Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-14475596326338504422009-03-27T07:40:00.000-07:002009-03-27T07:56:34.576-07:00How to extract Amygdalin/Vitamin B17 from Apricot KernelsVitamin B17

The main steps to follow in the extraction of AMYGDALIN/VITAMIN B17 are summarized below :

1. Selection of apricot kernels.
2. Cleaning the Apricot Kernels. Keeping as the principal objective the elimination of shells, husks, rock and leaves which might damage the mills.
3. Milling the apricot kernels. With this, it is possible to separate most of the oil from the initial milling and the remainder in the subsequent millings. The product from the milling is a fine, brownish powder with a bitter odor which, upon letting it sit, ferments spontaneously, which is desirable, because with it the yield from the extraction is increased.
4. Dissolving the powder. A stainless steel digester is used in the presence of isopropyl alcohol at a constant temperature and with constant reflux of the alcohol, for a period of 2 1/2 hours.
5. Filtering. One uses filters on very fine cloth so as to avoid the passage of particles of the powder which are not digested. The resulting product is allowed to sit for 72 hours, and is then washed with ethylic ether eliminate the isopropyl alcohol.
6. Drying the AMYGDALIN/VITAMIN B17. The dry, white powder, product of the filtering, is spread out on stainless steel dishes and is exposed for eight hours to temperatures between 50 and 60 degrees C. The project is 65 through 80% percent pure AMYGDALIN/VITAMIN B17.
7. Crystallization. This is completed in closed, glass, vacuum receptacles after exposing the AMYGDALIN/VITAMIN B17 to a mixture of activated carbon and ionized earth which act as a filter. The final product is AMYGDALIN/VITAMIN B17 with a purity of no less than 96%.

Article source : www.worldwithoutcancer.org

Vitamin B17Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-86126523415525362792009-03-23T06:33:00.000-07:002009-03-23T06:42:24.237-07:00Vitamin B17 - Apricot Seeds against Cancer
Vitamin B17

USA, June, 2004, Jason Wale was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months in prison for advertising and selling the anti-cancer laetrile-based drug, extracted from apricot seeds, which had been officially banned as early as 2000. Laetrile is more widely known as amygdalin or vitamin B17. Dr. Lester M. Crawford, authorized by FDA, justified the ban. He claimed that there’d been no scientific evidence that laetrile could cure cancer and that Wale’d given people false promises. Later on, Edward Griffin and Dr. Krebs published their book “World Without Cancer” that was based on the data backed up by scientific studies of vitamin B17 properties (Dr. Krebs also found vitamin B17 content in seeds of sweet cherry, apples, peaches and grapes, but in less quantity). They state that daily consumption of 7 apricot seeds helps prevent the risk of cancer. And if cancer has already developed, vitamin B17 consumption reduces cancerous growth. Lab experiments proved that vitamin B17 could destroy cancer cells.

Public opinion and experts think Jason Wale who cured himself of cancer and tried to help others was sacrificed by influential official health care institutes and pharmaceutical industry that couldn’t benefit from unpatented natural product.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-6482645571548145192009-03-23T06:22:00.000-07:002009-03-23T06:26:25.894-07:00Vitamin B17 - Apricot Seeds At High Doses Can Be FatalVitamin B17

Apricot seeds are taken by many people as a cancer treatment as they contain high doses of Vitamin B17, an immune system enhancer. However, apricot seeds also contain cyanide, a poison. The Food Standards Agency (UK) has advised people to take no more than two bitter apricot kernels a day. Higher doses could be dangerous for human health. A UK retailer, Julian Gray, was selling 10 seeds a day doses of apricot seeds. The retailer says it will re-sell them at not such a high dose (the present dose is not longer for sale).

There is controversy about apricot seeds and the claims made about it as a cancer cure. At Medical News Today we have had hundreds of letters from patients on this subject. Some people say it is wonderful while others say it made them feel worse.

Vitamin B17Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-18838291820966195462009-03-15T07:45:00.000-07:002009-03-15T07:52:00.425-07:00How to Obtain Laetrile or Vitamin B17 (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

There are sources of laetrile (Vitamin B17) pills. However, most people take laetrile (Vitamin B17) in the form of apricot kernels. In the middle of a peach or apricot is a hard shell. If we break open the hard shell with a "nut cracker," pliers or hammer, we will find a small seed/kernel in the middle that looks like an almond. However, it is much softer than an almond and certainly does not taste like an almond. It is this seed that is rich in natural laetrile (Vitamin B17).

Most experts will recommend a daily dose of apricot kernels from between 24 kernels a day up to 40 kernels a day, spread throughout the day. For a person in remission, 16 apricot kernals a day should be used as a minimum. Other things rich in laetrile are millet grain and buckwheat grain. Breads made with these grains, however, generally do not contain a high percentage of millet or buckwheat or else they would be too hard.

Also, the seeds of berry plants, such as red raspberries and black raspberries are rich in laetrile (Vitamin B17). Red raspberries also have a second cancer killer in their seeds: Ellagic Acid, a phenolic. About four dozen foods have Ellagic Acid, but Red Raspberries have the highest concentration. Strawberries also have Ellagic Acid.

Of course, apricot kernels are the best source of laetrile (Vitamin B17). Those who do not yet have cancer might want to plant a few apricot or peach trees in their back yard for a long term source of laetrile. The kernels can be frozen while still in the shell.

The Dr. Philip Binzel list of foods that contain laetrile (Vitamin B17) include: apricot kernels, peach kernels, grape seeds, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, bean sprouts, lima beans and macadamia nuts (to name but a few).

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-32645253815961021642009-03-15T07:41:00.000-07:002009-03-15T07:45:39.373-07:00Vitamin B17 / Laetrile - For Cancer Treatment (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

How It Work

Laetrile (i.e. amygdalin or Vitamin B17) therapy is one of the most popular and best known alternative cancer treatments. It is very simple to use and is very effective if used in high enough doses and if the product is of high quality and if it is combined with an effective cancer diet and key supplements (in other words, you need to do your homework to maximize its benefits).

Laetrile works by killing cancer cells and building the immune system to fend off future outbreaks of cancer. It uses two different methods for killing cancer cells. It involves a strict diet (as do all cancer treatments) and several supplements.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-57337945769335579162009-03-10T06:05:00.000-07:002009-03-10T06:09:22.788-07:00Amygdalin or Vitamin B17 for Cancer Treatment (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

Amygdalin/Vitamin B17 was first isolated in 1830. In 1845 it was used for cancer in Russia, and again in the 1920s in the United States, but it was considered too poisonous. In the 1950s a reportedly nontoxic, synthetic form was patented for use as a meat preservative, and later marketed as Laetrile for cancer treatment. In 1972, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center board member Benno Schmidt convinced the hospital to test laetrile so that he could assure others of its ineffectiveness "with some conviction". However, the respected scientist put in charge of the testing, Kanematsu Sugiura, found that laetrile inhibited the secondary tumors in mice without destroying the primary tumors. He repeated the experiment three times with the same results, and then three more times. In a blinded test, however, he was unable to conclude that laetrile had anticancer activity. His first three experiments were not published because, in the words of Chester Stock, Sugiura's supervisor, "it would have caused all kind of havoc". Nevertheless the results were leaked in 1973, causing a stir. Subsequently laetrile was tested on 14 tumor systems, and a Sloan-Kettering press release concluded that "laetrile showed no beneficial effects". Three other researchers were unable to confirm Sugiura's results, although one of three did confirm Sugiara's results in one of his three studies. Mistakes in the Sloan-Kettering press release were highlighted by a group of laetrile proponents led by Ralph Moss, former public affairs official of Sloan-Kettering hospital, who was fired when he announced his membership in the group. These mistakes were considered inconsequential, but Nicholas Wade in Science noted that "even the appearance of a departure from strict objectivity is unfortunate." The results from these studies were published all together.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-14476422988420412932009-03-10T06:01:00.000-07:002009-03-10T06:03:31.076-07:00Vitamin B17 for Cancer Therapy (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

G. Edward Griffin marshals the evidence that cancer is a deficiency disease – like scurvy or pellagra – aggravated by the lack of an essential food compound in modern man's diet. That substance is Vitamin B17. In its purified form developed for cancer therapy, it is known as Laetrile.

This story is not approved by orthodox medicine. The FDA, the AMA, and The American Cancer Society have labeled it fraud and quackery. Yet the evidence is clear that here, at last, is the final answer to the cancer riddle.

Why has orthodox medicine waged war against this non-drug approach? The author contends that the answer is to be found, not in science, but in politics – and is based upon the hidden economic and power agenda of those who dominate the medical establishment.

With billions of dollars spent each year on research, with other billions taken in on the sale of cancer-related drugs, and with fund-raising at an all-time high, there are now more people making a living from cancer than dying from it. If the solution should be found in a simple vitamin, this gigantic industry could be wiped out over night. The result is that the politics of cancer therapy is more complicated than the science.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-11676793537909528182009-03-10T05:55:00.000-07:002009-03-10T06:00:05.334-07:00Vitamin B17/Amygdalin and Laetrile (Vitamin B17)Vitamin B17

Amygdalin is sometimes confounded with laevomandelonitrile, also called laetrile for short; however, Amygdalin and Laetrile are different chemical compounds. Laetrile, which was patented in the United States, is a semi-synthetic molecule sharing part of the Amygdalin structure, while the "laetrile" made in Mexico is usually Amygdalin, the natural product obtained from crushed apricot pits, or neoamygdalin.

Though it is sometimes sold as "Vitamin B17", it is not a vitamin. Amygdalin/Laetrile was claimed to be a vitamin by Ernst Krebs, Jr in the hope that if classified as a nutritional supplement it would escape the federal legislation regarding the marketing of drugs. He could also capitalise on the public fad for vitamins at that time.

Vitamin B17Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1705325573032542982.post-70069299746778674222009-03-10T05:05:00.000-07:002009-03-10T05:52:58.052-07:00Introduction of Vitamin B17 or Amygdalin (Vitamin B17)
Vitamin B17

Pierre-Jean Robiquet and A. Later research showed that sulfuric acid decomposes it into d-glucose, benzaldehyde, and prussic acid (hydrogen cyanide); while hydrochloric acid gives mandelic acid, d-glucose, and ammonia.

The decomposition induced by enzymes may occur in two ways. Maltase partially decomposes it, giving d-glucose and mandelic nitrile glucoside, C6H5CH(CN)O•C6H11O5; this compound is isomeric with sambunigrin, a glucoside found by E.E. Bourquelot and Danjou in the berries of the Common Elder, Sambucus nigra. Emulsin, on the other hand, decomposes it into benzaldehyde, cyanide, and two molecules of glucose; this enzyme occurs in the bitter almond, and consequently the seeds invariably contain free cyanide and benzaldehyde. An "amorphous amygdalin" is said to occur in the cherry-laurel. Closely related to these glucosides is dhurrin, C14H17O7N, isolated by W. Dunstan and T. A. Henry from the common sorghum or "great millet," Sorghum vulgare; this substance is decomposed by emulsin or hydrochloric acid into d-glucose, cyanide, and 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde.

Natural Vitamin B17 or Amygdalin has the R configuration at the chiral benzyl center. Under mild basic conditions, this stereogenic center epimerizes; the S epimer is called neoamygdalin.

Vitamin B17
Red Myvihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01541618473389152996noreply@blogger.com0
