AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE

In Traditonal Chinese Medicine specific acupuncture points on the ear, link with all the organs and parts of the body. Ear points may therefore be used alongside body acupuncture points, as part of a treatment.

Alternatively, there is a specific protocol called the "Nada protocol", originally developed in the States in the 1960's, which is now used as part of drug treatment programmes all over the country.  This is used to help people over-come the acute withdrawal symptoms of either drugs or alcohol and needs, ideally, to be offered daily for up to 2 weeks.

5 tiny needles are inserted into acupuncture points in each ear and left for 40 minutes, while the patient relaxes. They act to reduce craving and the discomfort of withdrawal from drugs or alcohol, as well as relieving stress and anxiety.

As with any patient, the approach is holistic, so that diet and life-style issues are also discussed and support and advice given.

Cost for a 10 day course of auricular acupuncture is £120.
