Apprenticeship & Craft Training

Apprenticeship/Craft Training is career education combining on-the-job training and related classroom instruction.  Electrical Apprenticeship lasts four years, plumbing apprenticeship lasts two years. During this time the apprentice works under the supervision and guidance of a journeyperson while going to school one night a week. ABC's apprenticeship program is the education component and ABC does not guarantee employment. After a student is enrolled in ABC's program we can send unemployed students' contact information to training employers, but the hiring process is between the student and employer.

ABC's Apprenticeship Program is approved training for apprenticeship students registered with the U. S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship and is accredited through the NCCER, affiliated with the University of Florida.

Payment Arrangements

Typically, apprentices/craft trainers get a job in the field and the employer sponsors him/her into school at ABC.  The payment arrangement is between the employer and ABC.  If the employer passes any of the cost of school to the student that arrangement is between the employer and the student.

If a student wants to attend school without a sponsor, payment arrangements must be ahead of time.
