Can Heating Pad On Back Cause Herpes Outbreak Can Any Problem Arise From My Elderly Cat Laying On A Heating Pad?

Can any problem arise from my elderly cat laying on a heating pad? - can heating pad on back cause herpes outbreak

Hello!

I have a cat of 15 years who suffer from arthritis. She loves laying on a heating block, I started with a low or medium term. Set for hours. When he gets up, staggers a little.

Not really, I deny the heating pad as it cools and loves the thing. But long-term problem that could be caused by the introduction of a heating pad for hours a day?

Thank you for reading. [:

Even at low heating pad could develop a hot spot, and if your cat has trouble moving, or some form of nerve damage that they are less sensitive, because he could get burned very quickly does. How much is a risk that is dependent on the condition of the animal, and if the heating pad is new and in good condition. There's heated kennel pads to lower temperatures and thick padding on them to prevent such injuries, and could be a safer option to continue the comfort of her pussy. There are also thermal pet beds are made of materials that reflect heat from the body of the animal, no electricity, produced and also about comfort.

Just set a towel or blanket in his Op. Heating pad really recommended for animals with arthritis, unless he is with a towel or blanket over them.
You can limit their time on the heating pad, if you encounter later.
You can also consult a veterinarian if you notice any change in behavior and body language, since it is an older cat.

Although there is a blanket or towel on it, should not be a problem. I have seen beds of felt pads and Drs. Foster & Smith catalog, so I think they are safe for the animals.

I am a 16-year-old with arthritis and the vet put them on Dasuquin (glucosamine for cats) and saw a marked improvement in the first weeks. This is an open bowl and sprinkle on wet food, very easy to do. I highly recommend it.

If Cat has trouble getting up and walking, can not be good for all time.

Would be better to put a hard drive 12 hours heating in the microwave for 5 minutes, then hold only under the blanket. I have 2 of these for cold days, when it is required for day and night.

You can use these discs are commercially available pet or CalVetSupply. Com

I think we can dry out your skin ... read at least a ferret (which is different, but I think it could be used) It is said that good at his winter coat supplements, because when it is cold and people start turning on the heat in your home is perhaps your skin is Dry, who happens to people and makes them itch.
