Fertility

About 25% of women suffer from some form of infertility, whether it be spasmed tubes, repeated pregnancy loss, luteal phase defect, elevated follicle stimulating hormone, hyperprolactinemia, or polycystic ovarian syndrome with annovulatory cycles.   As women age, their chances of fertility declines, especially after 35. Acupuncture treatments combined with IFV (in vitro fertilization) has been proved to be very successful in increasing fertility.  The treatments helps to increase the blood flow to the uterus, help reduce anxiety and stress, assists in normalizing hormone levels, regulates the endocrine systems (which help regulate ovulation), regulates the menstrual cycle, and helps to positively affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis which plays a key role in fertility.  A study done by the Fertility & Sterility medical journal  found that acupuncture dramatically improves the chances of becoming pregnant when used in conjunction with other assisted reproductive techniques like IVF and donor egg transfer.
