No Problem!

Well, you're absolutely right! You can do your own air conditioning
repairs, regardless of rather it's straight air conditioning, an air conditioning heat pump, or a gas furnace.
So let's get right into it and make your A/C Problems a thing of the past.
Keep It Simple
I'll never forget the time in my younger years when one of my appliances broke and I spent hours trying to fix it. After completing the repair, the unit would not turn on. It was like I had created a new problem, because I remembered that it had turned on before but simply wasn't working properly.
Frustrated, I called up a company to come out and fix the darn thing. The technician walked in, looked behind the appliance, and plugged it into the outlet...Walla! Fixed! That'll be $80.00 please.
I couldn't believe I overlooked something so simple, and I was angry that I had to fork out $80.00 for such a task.
The morale of the story is to think simple, and to diagnose the actual problem when troubleshooting.
Don't Let This Happen To You
Nothing makes you feel more stupid than to have a serviceman come out and charge you $80.00 to flip a breaker back on or to do some other simple task.
So to begin with, we'll cover some common Air Conditioning Problems that are a cinch to fix.
When your a/c unit won't turn on or only hot air comes out of the vents when your in the cooling mode. Check the circuit breakers.
If you have one a/c unit located on the roof or ground-this will in turn have one circuit breaker (Usually labeled AC or air conditioning).
If you have two units, called a split system air conditioning unit, (you'll typically have one unit in the closet, garage, or attic, and the other on the roof), this type of system will have two circuit breakers (one breaker for each unit). One labeled ac and one labeled air handler. Check them out by turning them completely off, and then back on.
Did you check to see if your thermostat is on?
If it is on, did you turn the thermostat down below the temperature of the room when calling for cooling or above the temperature of the room when calling for heating?
Are your air conditioning filters clean?
Believe it or not, if they're dirty enough, your system will not function properly.
If your air conditioning filter(s) were extremely dirty, and you already replaced them, but you're still not getting cool air, it could be that your system has iced up do to the lack of air flow.
Turn your a/c system to the off position and turn the fan on only switch for a few hours to quickly melt the ice. Then return to normal operation. If that works...great! If it works only for a little while and the same problem returns, then your unit is either low on refrigerant or their is some other airflow problem that needs to be looked at.

I saw Bradley's company in a comparison against most all the other Hvac companies in my area... while others sounded good, I was not impressed with what customers wrote about their service and fairness on pricing.... I think Bradley is extremely honest and you really do get pricing that is half of the other HVAC companies... Nice! Bradley is also the owner which I like. Nothing like dealing directly with the person that owns the business that you are buying from!!

I do IT consulting on my own so I thought that there must be smaller companies with hard working honest guys around that do AC work. Google brought up Bradley's web page, and actually read the testimonials and thought I would give him a shot. Bradley came and diagnosed the problem to be a motor, he spent an hour making sure, and returned after obtaining the part and finishing up the other work he had scheduled that day which ended up being 11:00pm to replace it so my family could get some sleep. NO WAY would a large company have come that late, at least not without extreemly heavy fees. Thanks for the fair price and Excellent service!
