EDRC Affiliated Therapists

The Center is based at 330 West 58th Street, with therapists working in private offices throughout Manhattan. We take into account location convenience when making a recommendation for a treatment referral.

All therapists are psychodynamically-trained and are skilled in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating and body dysmorphic disorders. We are specifically known for directly intervening with the symptom, while at the same time understanding the psychological meaning the symptom can have for each person. Particular attention is given to helping individuals develop coping strategies and finding resources to deal with feelings underlying the eating disorder. We also offer a range of expertise, including specialties in the treatment of substance abuse and sexual abuse, assessment for bariatric surgery, and the use of cognitive-behavioral techniques.

Other Referrals

The complications of bulimia, anorexia and/or binge eating disorder often require the attention of different professionals to support the process of recovery. When needed, our therapists work closely with physicians, nutritionists, psychopharmacologists and school health care systems. We collaborate as a team in order to develop a thorough and consistent treatment approach for each individual. We also make referrals to other experts in the field and health care facilities as they are needed or requested.
