Welcome

The Central Florida AHEC’s mission is to enhance access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of health care professionals through community/academic educational partnerships.  CFAHEC is part of the Nova Southeastern University Program, which began in 1991 and covers a nineteen-county area in the central and southern part of Florida. Community activities are carried out by two local AHEC Centers, Central Florida AHEC in Apopka serving Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Sumter, Brevard, Highlands, Hardee, and Polk counties and Everglades AHEC in West Palm Beach, which serves Broward, Collier, Glades, Hendry, Indian River, Lee Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, and St. Lucie counties. We are part of the statewide Florida AHEC Network, which includes AHEC programs at five of the state’s medical schools and 10 centers covering all 67 counties in the state.
