The Livingston County Genealogical Society will meet at 7pm Thursday, 4 April 2024 – Derek Blount will present “Where are the Early Dead of Detroit”. A review of the early cemeteries of Detroit and what happened to them, and the people buried there. A discussion of where to find death records for the early days. Derek J. Blount is a professional genealogist. He has worked for 35 years on his family genealogy traveling across America, Canada and the United Kingdom gathering records. Derek was born in England and specializes in research in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth nations. He holds a B.S. degree from Oakland University and has completed coursework at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh. This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. Do your part to keep medications from being abused. Do not flush unused medication. The Big Red Barrel Project is part of Livingston County Community Alliance.

Cleary University will host its second annual Sip, Savor and Support fundraising event featuring tastings of beer, wine and spirits, along with a wide selection of tapas to sample. You Are Invited: from 9am - 1pm (lunch at noon). We will conserve and protect South Lyon Area creeks, streams, and waterways for this community service event. Sat May 4 Big Red Barrel/Unused Medication & Needle Disposal

The Big Red Barrel will be at Recycle Livingston Saturday May 4, 2024 from 9 am to 1 am to collect unused medications and used needles. Recycle Livingston is located at 170 Catrell Drive in Howell. This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. Do your part to keep medications from being abused. Do not flush unused medication. The Big Red Barrel Project is part of Livingston County Community Alliance.
