LAKE JACKSON — Addressing aging roads and other infrastructure is a priority for Lake Jackson, and how the candidates for City Council Position 2 would address them is one of the topics they addressed as the May 4 election approaches.

Although the Surfside Beach City Council tabled making a decision on whether to remove or repair the existing crabbing pier, more information is being gathered on the issue.

Lake Jackson Boy Scout Troop 394 performed a property retirement ceremony for worn and damaged American flags Saturday at the Jackson Plantation Site in Lake Jackson. Before the ceremony, the flags are cut into red stripes, white stripes and the blue field of stars, with each burned separately.
