Story updated: The Tekken Talk featuring Eddy Gordo, the first DLC fighter coming to Tekken 8, is going live now. Viewers can watch the current presentation below.
Those that attended the last episode of Tekken Talk, Katsuhiro Harada, Michael Murray, Kohei Ikeda, and Yasuda Esports, will be returning for the upcoming episode. Additionally, it's been revealed that Hameko, a notable Japense fighting game commentator, will be appearing as a special guest.
The good guys over at FightingGameSelect were recently able to score an interview with Evo 2013 champion and Capcom Cup regular GG|Xian to talk about the updated state of Street Fighter 6.
The game got its first notable balance update in late February in which a handful of characters were adjusted, but Xian doesn't feel like all that much has changed. That said, he's got a few ideas for the inevitable additional balance patch that's coming later this year, and some of them are a little intense.
Despite a charismatic January launch Tekken 8 and its players have been continually afflicted by nefarious actors in online modes, something developers have been having a difficult time dealing with.
Though an initial round of bans were issues earlier this month, Bandai has followed up with even more account suspensions for more reasons.
In our latest episode of Talk and Block Steven "DreamKing" Chavez proposes five different types of characters he feels aren't fully represented in Street Fighter 6 yet, and that could potentially round out the game to an even greater degree than it's already at.
Though we definitely do talk about specific representatives for each of these types, the idea here is meant to be more broad than a simple list of hopeful newcomers. It's not all restricted to a discussion about the likes of zoners, grapplers, rush down, and the like, as DreamKing gets a little more creative the further we go.
If Manon punishes you with a maxed out command grab it instantly lops off an incredible 42%, (slightly less for the more durable Zangief or Marisa) which very well may be the single most powerful non-Super command grab in Street Fighter history.
Lily's OD Condor Spire may be the best "skip neutral" move in the game as it goes through fireballs, beats Drive Impact, doles out decent damage, and leaves her plus in your face as a grappler on block. Both of these characters, however, are still easily regarded as two of the worst characters in all of Street Fighter 6. In a recent video MCMuraFGC explores with more depth why these grapplers have such a hard time despite having such obviously powerful tools.
Back in November of last year, the team behind Killer Instinct released a new update for its Anniversary Edition that included an all new set of balance changes. The team has returned once again, and it looks like they'll be making more additions to the 2013 title.
A live stream is set to be held tomorrow by the Iron Galaxy crew that will be showcasing some new balance changes coming to the game. Apparently, we will also see some new cosmetic content during the broadcast.
The latest DLC Kameo Fighter for Mortal Kombat 1 has joined the game this week. Janet Cage, the alternate timeline version of Johnny Cage, is now available in-game, and players have been hitting the lab to figure out what all she can do.
Not long after her official launch, it appears that someone has found a secret Brutality that the Kameo can use to finish off an opponent. This finisher also happens to be a direct reference to a classic Mortal Kombat glitch involving Johnny Cage.
The modern online landscape for competitive fighting games has quite a few cheaters in it. With the advances in technology and the recent prominence of online play, some players are finding craftier ways to cheat, earn themselves ranked points they don't deserve, and drag the experience down for everyone.
In Street Fighter 6, we have seen instances of players running scripts that give them blatant advantages such as automatic perfect parries any time they want, but some cheaters are finding other, less obvious ways of breaking the rules that can be a lot harder to spot if you don't know what to look for. Fortunately, fighting game content creator Broski knows what to look for, and in one of his latest videos uncovers another player who might be cheating in ranked.
Using mods to customize your gaming experience is one of the most interesting benefits of playing on PC, but owners of Tekken 8 may need to proceed with caution when attempting to use and share them currently.
Multiple modders and creators are reporting they've been hit with copyright strikes on YouTube videos featuring Tekken 8 mods as well as some ways to download said mods removed too.
Over the past generation of fighting games, no developer seemed to push harder for crossovers with their characters than SNK, which gave fans a bunch of cool clashes they never thought possible before.
After getting my hands on the first Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves demo, I got to speak with Director Hayato Konya and veteran Producer Yasuyuki Oda where I asked them directly about SNK's crossovers.
With the news that Marvel was about to announce a new video game, the ears of fighting game fans perked up no matter how small the chance is for it to be a new Marvel vs. Capcom title.
Now, we know that the project is a team-based game, but Marvel Rivals is a shooter, not a fighter. Fans are still showing they're hungry and hopeful for MvC — though the FGC will keep the spirit alive even without Marvel vs. Capcom 4.
It's been more than a couple of weeks since Fergus2k8 released his Tekken 8 tier list. In a recent video upload, Fergus2k8 has released a new tier list for Tekken 8 that ranks each fighter based on how easy or difficult they are to use.
As such, this tier list of Fergus2k8's arranges all 32 characters very differently compared to how they were placed on the last tier list. There are a few examples of characters that were rated either very highly or poorly on the traditional tier list that ended up closer to the opposite end of this ease-of-use list.
The Mortal Kombat 1 patch for March 26, 2024 in now available to download. As such, patch notes for the new update have also been released.
There's not much to say about this latest patch, though it is the patch that is releasing Janet Cage as the newest Kameo. Curiously, there's also a reported bug fix for the Kameo even though this is the first time that players will be able to use her.
Jmcrofts recently released a video where he discussed the 10 missing features from modern fighting games that he'd like to see more of. While certain fighting games do have some of these features, it would be nice if they were more common in modern AAA fighters.
During the video, the topic of requiring a PC benchmark came up. According to Jmcrofts, this feature would be especially handy for Tekken 8 considering how often the online experience is ruined by those with jumping into ranked with computers that can barely run the game.
It was very quickly discovered after the launch of Street Fighter 6 that some character's taunts have interesting traits that, while not the most useful in battle, can do some, well... interesting things.
Blanka's taunt, for example, is the only way he can replenish Blanka-Chan dolls, but it's so slow and you're locked into the entire animation, so using it in an actual match is essentially out of the question. We know that Lily's camera flash can collide with projectiles and stop them, but what you might not know is that her taunt can also KO you and capture that moment forever on film while doing it.
Sometime in the next few months, Street Fighter 6 will finally reach its second season status with Capcom putting out their first attempt to fully rebalance the game in whichever ways they see fit.
Former Capcom Cup champion for Street Fighter 5, XSET|iDom recently put together something of a wishlist for SF6 Season 2 going over his top five most wanted changes.
Everyone here is almost assuredly quite familiar with Evo Moment #37 and the impact its continued to have on the fighting game community, but there's been plenty of other ridiculous comebacks that have taken place since then.
The legendary Justin Wong, who was of course on the receiving end of the Daigo Parry at Evo 2004, recently decided to try and see if he could find a comeback that could beat it as the best of all time.
