They won't have Sidney Crosby in their lineup, but all eyes will be on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.
Pittsburgh, which is off to a solid 10-4-3 start without its captain, will host the Colorado Avalanche at the Consol Energy Center in a game that can be seen on VERSUS in the United States and TSN2 in Canada. Opening faceoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Colorado has won only three of its last 10 games but sits at the .500 mark at 8-8-1. Joe Sacco's club is 6-2-1 on the road this season.
There was some speculation that Crosby would make his season debut Tuesday night, but Pens coach Dan Bylsma put a stop to it Monday. Crosby hasn't played since January, when he suffered a concussion.
"We stated we will let (the media) know when he is playing," Bylsma said. "It's not going to be a secret. I'm not telling anything else other than there is no change in his status."
The Colorado-Pittsburgh showdown is one of nine games on the NHL schedule Tuesday night.
