Public Comment-GOHSEP STORM Revolving Loan Fund Intended Use Plan

GOHSEP invites the public to provide input on the Hazard Mitigation Revolving Loan Fund Intended Use Plan. In response to the Safeguarding Tomorrow through Ongoing Risk Mitigation (STORM) Act and the enabling legislation passed by Louisiana, Act No. 524, GOHSEP intends to apply for a capitalization grant from FEMA to fund the second year of the STORM Hazard Mitigation Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Program and is seeking public comment on the draft Intended Use Plan (IUP).

BATON ROUGE, La - FEMA recently approved the Louisiana State Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan goes into effect March 21 and expires on March 20, 2029.

Eye Safety for Partial Solar Eclipses

Partial solar eclipses are different from total solar eclipses – there is no period of totality when the Moon completely blocks the Sun's bright face. Therefore, during partial solar eclipses, it is never safe to look directly at the eclipse without proper eye protection.
