First Annual Crafton Borough Photo Contest!

Crafton Borough invites you to join the competition and the fun by sharing your favorite picture or pictures of Crafton. Don’t have a favorite? Go take more photos! The winners will be recognized in the next Crafton Courier Newsletter, and we will have the photos printed in a larger format and hung in the Borough Building or the Community Center for all to enjoy.

The contest has four categories, and each will have a winner:

• Architecture/Building

• Events

• People

• Nature

PAWC - WATER MAIN REPLACEMENTS

Crafton Borough has received the following notice from Pennsylvania American Water, regarding upcoming water main replacement work.

MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO START SOON

Our customers in Crafton rely on us to provide safe, reliable water service. We're planning to keep our infrastructure that way by constantly upgrading it. Think of it as your water bill at work - right in your neighborhood.

WHAT: We're replacing approximately 1,900 feet of aging water main with a new ductile iron main.

WHERE: We will be replacing water mains along:

Union Avenue (from E. Steuben Street to Dead End) - Contractor: Casper Colosimo & Son

Sterrett Street (from Rush Alley to Alley A) - Contractor: WA Petrakis

Crafton Boulevard (from 1664 to 1672) - Contractor: WA Petrakis

Parkview Street (from Crafton Blvd to 4 Parkview Street) - Contractor: WA Petrakis

WHY: The pipeline project will help improve water quality and service reliability and increase flow for household use and firefighting.

WHEN: Weather permitting, our contractors will begin in Spring and work will be completed in late 2024. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work outside these hours is not expected unless required to maintain the project schedule.

2024 Adopted Budget

The 2024 Adopted Crafton Borough Budget is now available. The budget includes four funds: the General Fund, the Road Fund, the Sewer Fund, and the Bond Fund for Capital Projects. The budget is balanced and there is no tax increase for 2024. You can come into the office to review a hard copy of the budget or download it at the link below.

• The General Fund Total - $6,123,629

• The Road Fund Total - $654,000

• The Sewer Fund Total - $2,951,400

• The Bond Fund - Capital Projects - $6,768,800

Get Help Applying for Rent or Property Tax Rebates

Senator Wayne Fontana wants to remind eligible individuals that his office can assist in filing for a rebate through the 2022 Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. Applications are available online at www.revenue.pa.gov or by calling 1-888-222-9190.

Filers have the ability to apply for the property tax/rent rebate online using the Department of Revenue’s myPath system. Filing online leads to fast processing, easy direct deposit options and automatic calculators that will help you apply for your rebate.
