Frankenmuth Little Angels Foundation created to assist with loss of a child

  Five Frankenmuth-area residents have founded a new, much-needed organization to help local families deal with the tragic loss of  young child.

  Using the Frankenmuth Community Foundation, the Frankenmuth Little Angels Foundation was recently created by David Abke, Joelle Abke, Sarah Opperman, Chris Opperman, and Kenneth Horn.

  The fivesome recently launched this new organization and are beginning to accept donations to get this new entity up and running for area families who may find this need.

 Following is the Little Angels Foundation’s mission statement and purpose.

  “The purpose of the Foundation shall be to provide financial assistance and support to families who have experienced the loss of a minor child. Specifically, the Foundation aims to assist families in covering the costs associated with the burial, funeral, and memorial expenses of their deceased child. The Foundation recognizes that families are often unprepared for the financial burden that comes with such unexpected and tragic events and seeks to alleviate this burden by raising and administrating funds dedicated to this cause.”

  David Abke, the Little Angels Foundation president, started the process of starting this organization two years ago and after working through the legalities, and partnering with the Frankenmuth Community Foundation, is now ready to move forward. Sarah Opperman is the vice president, Joelle Abke the secretary and treasurer, and Chris Opperman and Horn are the directors. ....
