A Little Bit about this site...

In 1717, Hans Hess, along with his wife, Magdalena and their 6 children immigrated to America from Switzerland. They settled in the Conestoga Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This began the foundation for my branch of the Hess Family in America.

Through my research, I have uncovered much information about both his descendants as well as his ancestors. To date, my line of direct ancestors stretches back to Johannes Hans Hess, born in 1458 in Prussia. He is my 13 X Great Grandfather.

This genealogical record was begun by my aunt, Shirley Hess, who did much research into the Hess family. When she died, I inherited all of her research along with her desire to learn more about our family history. It has been and continues to be a both fun and frustrating experience. I hope that you find the information contained on this site interesting and useful.

Pictured on the left is my grandfather, Frederick E. Hess, a musician and music educator in central Nebraska in the early to mid 1900s. He taught music in Aurora, NE., Harvard, NE., Central City, NE., Plattsmouth, NE. as well as other places.

Can You Help?

Genealogy is a never-ending project. I am always in search of information, documents and most importantly, pictures that I can include on this site. If you think you can help in any way, please let me know. Thank-you!
