The site is an Introduction to our main site and also enables us to provide a Complete JOHN WAYNE FILMOGRAPHY and a JOHN WAYNE BIOGRAPHY, with access to our Online Store for John Wayne Videos, DVD’s, CD’s and Movie Cells, aswell as providing details of our Bi-Annual Members Conventions and Journals which we produce.
When we first launched the JOHN WAYNE FILM SOCIETY back in 1990, Members would always ask which John Wayne Films were on Video and could we still obtain them.
Eventually, as a result of Members requests we started to compile a list of available Films and we were also able to supply them.
We were privileged to be involved in the launch of HONDO on Video in the UK in 1995, especially because it came from BATJAC which was still operated at the time by Michael Wayne. Our Main website includes a review of this great occassion.Eventually we hope to see the release of those two lost John Wayne Classics-THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY and ISLAND IN THE SKY.
‘HONDO’ quickly rose to Number 1 in the sell-through UK Video charts, and we were then approached by Polygram who were launching a series of John Wayne Videos and asked us to be involved in the Sales Campaign and Promotion.
The main website has a Secure Online Store with all the currently available JOHN WAYNE Pal Videos.
The same period also saw the appearance and rise in popularity of DVD's, and for many people they now prefer this format for watching Films, especially with the improved picture and sound quality. We are thrilled that many Film Companies are releasing John Wayne Titles on DVD, and we have on our main website a list of currently available JOHN WAYNE DVD's (Region 2).
The Website also has a JOHN WAYNE Store which includes Limited Edition Movie Soundtrack CD's from JOHN WAYNE FILMS, and Limited Edition JOHN WAYNE MOVIE CELLS.
