The South Madison Coalition of the Elderly dedicated to the independence of older adults

The South Madison Coalition of the Elderly is a nonprofit agency providing social services for older adults.

We strive to preserve and improve the life satisfaction of older adults in a number of ways by:

  • bringing together individuals in the community who have a concern for the needs of older adults.
  • coordinating and establishing programs that will help older adults prepare for and live creatively in their retirement years.
  • focusing the attention and energies of the community on the needs of older adults.
  • identifying the needs of older adults and advocating for their resolution.
  • providing workday courses to the individuals who help older adults which aids them in fundraising strategies and grant management so that employees and volunteers of the Coalition can enhance their abilities and effectively serve their older adult clients, ultimately fulfilling the organization's mission of providing social services to the community

Mission Impact

Mary’s family: “Your organization made it possible for our family to survive day to day and manage a difficult time. Without all your knowledge and support, I cannot imagine what we would have done.”

Harriet: “I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for me. With the extra money you helped me get, I will be able to buy food and meals that I could not get in the past. All your help has made a difference in my life.”

Bertha’s daughter: “My mother’s case manager has been my family’s guardian angel. She is the one I know I can turn to with every question, problem, and dilemma. Your case manager never once has let me down; when she says she will do something, she always comes through and far exceeds her duties.”
