ABOUT SILAT BLEDEK

Silat Bledek is an American martial art based on the Indonesian systems of Pentjak Silat Serak and Pukulan Pentjak Silat Tongkat. Maha Guru Robert Vanatta was encouraged by his instructors, Maha Guru Victor de Thouars and Pendekar Paul de Thouars, to create an expression of Pentjak Silat Serak to teach to the American public. Silat Bledek is that system.

Silat Bledek maintains an honest representation of its source systems while focusing instruction toward developing each practitioner’s practical skills to face the needs and threats of the present.

WHY SILAT BLEDEK?

01

Silat Bledek teaches skills for life-and-death situations that its traditional Indonesian roots prescribed. It has not been adapted for sport fighting, point sparring contests, or to generate revenue as a martial art business.

02

Learn to protect yourself successfully and effectively in just a few weeks, not years.  Following that, practitioners learn a concise set of tools for endless combinations, allowing for limitless potential to develop understanding and martial mastery.  The goal is to develop the practitioner’s ability to improvise, not one’s ability to collect curriculum.

03

Learn as quickly or as concertedly as you wish, at your own pace, and with a focus that meets your personal interest or needs.
